Cornerstone Hall, along with International and Honors Houses, is a part of a dynamic community referred to as Tri-House. Built in 2003, Cornerstone Hall is a co-educational building, with single-sex wings that houses 265 students. Most residents that live in Cornerstone Hall are a part of the Cornerstone Learning Communities program, a cooperative effort between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. Designed for first-year students, students who participate in the program live and take most of their classes in Cornerstone Hall with the same small group of students. Each Cornerstone Learning Community is made up of three University Studies courses. Classrooms are located on the first floor of Cornerstone Hall where the students in learning communities attend their learning community classes. Amenities of Cornerstone Hall include: free laundry machines on the first floor, security cameras in the front entrance, perimiters, and stairwells, vending, programming space for community building, multiple flat screen televisions in the main lobby, and recycling bins.
