Located in the central area of campus, the University Apartments is comprised of 13 apartment buildings, where each building houses 8 apartments. Each apartment includes 4 individual rooms, a common space, a full kitchen with appliances, and a full bath area. With approximately 400 residents, the University Apartments has several student populations: first-year students, National Student Exchange students, transfer students, Greek life, athletes, and upper classmen. The University Apartments' leadership includes 8 Resident Assistants, an Assistant Residence Coordinator, and a Residence Coordinator. Amenities to the area include: a laundry room that is free of charge to Apartments residents; The Seahawk Station, an on-campus convenient store; two sand volleyball courts; and an outdoor basketball court. Residents enjoy living here because of the privacy of each apartment, its central location, and the diverse community. The University Apartments are an academic year housing contract.
The best part of the apartments is that they are a step up from a regular residence hall. Students get their own room, a kitchen area, and each apartment has its own entrance. It allows you to have more independence, and you are still part of the UNCW community.
