Our graduate Clinical Research program is ranked #1!

Congratulations to the graduate faculty of the Clinical Research program for being selected as the #1 school among the 10 most affordable online MSN programs in clinical research. The ranking was made by the Best Medical Degrees website, an online guide to the top medical degree programs. Criteria used in the ranking consisted of tuition costs, accreditation and program length.

Several events have occurred within the Clinical Research program this semester.

In February, an information session was held to introduce attendees to a new fellowship program available for clinical research students, which will be launched this summer. Clinical research professionals from the Wilmington area were present to explain their role in the new fellowship offerings. 

The NC Coast Clinical Research Initiative and UNCW Student Association of Clinical Research (SACR) have held several seminars as part of the spring ’17 seminar series:

  • Jan. 18:  Les Rutt, manager of clinical research associates at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, spoke on “A Day in the Life: Clinical Research Associate.”
  • Feb. 15:  Kevin Gilligan Sr., Director of Medical Affairs, Clinical Research Management, Inc. presented “Addressing Global Health Challenges: Vaccine Development Initiatives against Emerging Disease.”
  • March 28:  Sandra L. Silberman, the attending physician at the Durham VA Medical Center, will present as a part of CHHS Week :“Clinical Drug Development in Oncology – the Science and the Art.”  The event will take place in Room 1051 of McNeill Hall at 6 p.m.
