I advise the UNCW One in Four Chapter because sexual assault and domestic violence are not solely a women's issue, Men have the power to empower and help those in need and this group is the first step for many men to stand against injustice and support those that they care about. I hold hope as a pivotal component of 1in4 becuase these young men are setting a new standard for what being a "Real Man" actually means and that truly empowering!

I am a member of One in Four because I want to spread awareness around UNCW about the travesty of sexual assault and how much of an issue it is. I want to be prepared if I am ever needed by a friend or peer, and I want to help combat this issue so it ceases to exist.

I am a member of One in Four because I am passionate about stopping domestic violence and sexual assault, and I think that a group of guys educating people on these topics is an amazing group who can bring a lot of good to this campus.

I am a member of One in Four because growing up I've always been big, tall and strong, and my parents instilled many values in me early on. One of those values has been the use of my strengths to help protect those near to me and those who cannot protect themselves. After hearing my first story of a victim who suffered through rape and physical abuse I wanted to do nothing more than protect her however, all her scars were internal. I joined One in Four so that they would teach me the signs of abuse and how to better aid victims come into terms with their past so that they can once again lead their normal lives.

I am a member of One in Four because I feel that men often do not fully respect women, as well as misunderstand certain situations and the consequences. I am a member of One in Four because I wanted to know how to properly help and care for sexual assault survivors and I want to stop sexual assault at its roots by educating people. Men are often seen as the aggressors and I believe that through One in Four we can help men be that source of comfort for sexual assault survivors to turn to.
