Watson College Hosts Regional Math Conference

Regional Math Conference of the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics

The Watson College of Education hosted the regional conference of the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) on Feb. 15.

One hundred and twenty-five K-12 teachers attended the event themed, “Digging Deeper with Challenging Standards.”  WCE associate professor and NCCTM Board member Shelby Morge worked with fellow Board members Katie Martin and Eleanor Pusey to organize the conference.  Martin is K-12 mathematics lead teacher for New Hanover County Schools and NCCTM Eastern Region middle grades vice president. Pusey teaches mathematics at Columbus County High School and is the NCCTM state secondary vice president.

Regional Math Conference of the North Carolina Council of Teachers of MathematicsNCCTM is the professional organization for teachers, curriculum and instruction managers and others responsible for teaching mathematics at all levels, from kindergarten through graduate school in North Carolina. The organization’s mission is to promote excellence in mathematics teaching and learning for all.
