Kate Nooner, senior associate dean in the College of Science and Engineering and professor in the Department of Psychology, has been accepted into the 2025-26 cohort of the Drexel University Executive Leadership in Academic Technology, Engineering and Science (ELATES) Program.

The prestigious program is designed to develop leadership skills among women in academic STEM fields and enhance knowledge and skills in higher education business practices, project management with diverse stakeholders, and effective communication in a variety of leadership platforms.

“I’m honored to be the first psychologist selected for the ELATES program and excited to bring the science of mental health to the forefront of leadership in STEM,” said Nooner.

ELATES (formerly ELATE at Drexel) launched in 2012 and has since graduated over 150 alumnae from over 64 sponsoring institutions. The program has been supported by The National Science Foundation, The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, The Henry Luce Foundation, Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN), The American Council on Education, and The Kern Family Foundation. Nooner will begin her ELATES fellowship in August 2025.
