Krissy Vick has been promoted to editorial manager within UNCW's Office of University Relations. She began her new role on Jan. 2, 2024.
Vick has served as the media relations specialist at UNCW since 2021. She developed articles to promote key initiatives, research and achievements; supported the university's branding efforts; and expanded UNCW's outreach by developing and pitching coverage ideas to media outlets. Vick also served as interim content manager overseeing the Fall 2023 edition of the UNCW Magazine. Before joining UNCW, Vick served as the community relations specialist for Charlottesville City Schools, where she managed two annual publications.
"Krissy has earned the respect of colleagues and community partners through her professionalism and commitment to excellence," said Molly McKeown, communications director. "I know she will help UNCW soar higher through the production of outstanding university publications and media coverage."
As the editorial manager, Vick will work with McKeown to develop an overarching editorial strategy and streamline processes for successful implementation. She will also oversee content planning, production and editorial support for digital and print platforms to advance the university's strategic goals. In addition, Vick will collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated projects and manage the university's media relations activities, news media and publication strategies.

Vick received her bachelor’s degree in communication studies with concentration in broadcasting and an English minor in professional writing and language from Virginia Tech.
