WIND SYMPHONY MUS 185
UNCW’s premier symphonic band performs the finest literature available for winds, including traditional wind band repertoire, marches, transcriptions and the newest 20th century works; performs two concerts each semester and features guest soloists and guest conductors.
PEP BAND
The university’s primary athletic band provides music and school spirit at men’s and women’s home basketball games. The band travels with both teams each year to the CAA Conference Tournament and post-season tournaments. Students in the band receive scholarship awards ($) for their attendance at games and tournaments.
Choral

CONCERT CHOIR MUS 186
A balanced mixed chorus that performs twice each semester on campus or in the community. The size of each section is determined with attention to the balance of the entire group.
WOMEN'S CHOIR
A vocal ensemble for soprano and alto singers, performs at least twice each semester on campus or in the community.
CHAMBER CHOIR MUS 183
An auditioned ensemble with enrollment limited to those approved by the director before registration. Individuals are selected who can sing their parts completely independently. Performances include local concerts, short tours during the year, and radio and television appearances.
Jazz

Usually present two concerts each semester and perform a variety of big band styles from early jazz to modern, contemporary jazz styles. Performances include annual events such as UNCW’s Guest Artist Jazz Festival and the Cape Fear Jazz Society benefit concert.
