Ashley Elizabeth Hudson is from Athens, Alabama. She was awarded the Columbia: A Journal of Literature and Art poetry prize. Her poems appear in Six Little Things, the Southeast Review, and The Fairy Tale Review among others.

Academic Interests:
In addition to contemporary literature, Ashley Hudson’s interests include studies in the history of the literary fairy tale, folklore and the oral tradition, autobiographical poetry, ecopoetics, Southern poetry, and new journalism. She is currently working on a lyric essay about historical literary fairy tale mothers and daughters and themes of abandonment in contemporary cultural situations.
