Seahawk Fitness offers nationally certified personal trainers who will create a safe and customized fitness program to help you attain your personal goals. Personal Training is available to current students, faculty, staff, and members. Trainers will educate, motivate, and maximize your workout experience with the proper focus, goals, and accountability that you desire. You can work one on one with a personal trainer, with a friend, or even in a small group!

Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain lean muscle, train for a specific event, or just feel better, our trainers have a wide range of training and specialties to help you be successful. Don't delay; start today!

Personal training sessions are non-transferable and non-refundable. Medical conditions, which cause a delay in completing purchased sessions beyond 90 days will be refunded if a physician's note is provided. All packages begin with a Fitness Assessment. Personal Training is available to current students, faculty, staff, and members.

Training Policies

  1. Any current student, faculty/ staff, or member with a valid Student Recreation Center membership is eligible to hire a personal trainer.
  2. To sign up with a trainer, you must register and submit payment in the Campus Recreation Suite in the Student Recreation Center between business hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Once you register and payment has been successfully received, your trainer will contact you via e-mail or phone within 2 business days
  3. All sessions will be conducted at the UNCW Student Recreation Center by current Department of Campus Recreation Personal Training staff only.
  4. All training sessions will be a maximum of 60 minutes in length.
  5. There are no penalties if cancellations are made at least 24 hours in advance for a personal training session or fitness assessment appointment. You may contact your trainer directly or call 910-962-7443 between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Every effort will be made to reschedule a training session according to the mutual availability of the client and trainer.
  6. Failure to show up to a scheduled appointment or tardiness of 15 minutes or more will result in forfeiture of one appointment or session. Sessions that start late will still end at the scheduled time.
  7. Training packages expire at the end of the semester that they were purchased, unless otherwise approved for extension by the Fitness Coordinator and/or Assistant Director. To request an extension you must contact Carey Greenwood via e-mail or phone at 910-962-2037. All unused sessions will be forfeited.
  8. Your initial session will be a Fitness Assessment. Packages purchased that are 8 sessions or greater will receive a post assessment free of charge.
  9. All personal training fees must be paid in full prior to starting program. Trainers may not accept any direct or additional payment for their services.
  10. Some clients may require medical clearance (PDF) from a physician prior to starting an exercise program. You will be notified if medical clearance is needed.

Small Group Training
