Who Are We and What Do We Do?

The Building a Better Wilmington Campaign (BBWC) housed in the Department of Public and International Affairs at UNCW has been creating student produced films over the last two years to propel the group's mission to increase the visibility, effectiveness, and sustainability of nonprofit organizations in Southeastern North Carolina. The films are then used to promote quality volunteer experiences that provide successful collaborations between the university, students, and the nonprofit community.

Mission:

The Building a Better Wilmington Campaign aims to increase the visibility, effectiveness and sustainability of nonprofit organizations in Southeastern North Carolina by promoting quality volunteer experiences and forging successful collaborations between the University of North Carolina Wilmington, students, and the nonprofit community.

Vision:

The Building a Better Wilmington Campaign strives to raise the profile of nonprofit organizations in Southeastern North Carolina and to connect highly motivated students and community members with local nonprofits in mutually beneficial relationships. Through the creation and screening of student films, research on the nonprofit sector, and education and mentoring of future nonprofit leaders, the Building a Better Wilmington Campaign creates valuable collaborations between UNCW and the nonprofit community.

Values:

The Building a Better Wilmington Campaign believes in the ability of students, community members, and nonprofit organizations to create a stronger, more vibrant Wilmington and greater Southeastern North Carolina.
