Feb. 24 - Low-volume “Growl” Test of the Seahawk Warning Siren System
Sunday, February 16, 2014
A low-volume “growl” test of the Seahawk Warning Siren System is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24 at 12 p.m. The sirens will emit a low-volume sound for about 15 seconds during the test.
The university will continue to perform routine “growl” tests on the third Monday of each month for maintenance purposes unless actual safety situations, such as a tornado watch, intervene with the schedule.
The Seahawk Warning Siren System is an outdoor emergency warning tool that the university uses in conjunction with a number of other tools, such as email, desktop, phone and text notifications, to communicate with the campus community during major emergencies.
