UNCW Presents Lecture by Col. Eileen Collins on March 25

Wilmington, N.C. - UNCW welcomes Col. Eileen Collins, the first female shuttle pilot and commander, for a lecture at 7 p.m., March 25, in the Burney Center. Her presentation is co-sponsored by UNCW Presents, the Mimi Cunningham Speaker Series Endowment and the Department of Communication Studies.

Her lecture, "Leadership Lessons from Apollo to Discovery," is free for UNCW students, faculty and staff. Tickets are $10 each for members of the general public. Visit UNCW Presents for more information and to order tickets.

Col. Collins became the first female shuttle pilot in 1995 and the first commander in 1999. She has spent more than 872 hours of her life in space. Her presentation includes reflection on her personal experiences with the space shuttle program and her unique perspective on the future of the space program in America.
