UNCW Presents announces the renowned and bilingual Dali Quartet will bring their unique blend of classical technique and Latin-American music to UNCW's Kenan Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25.
The innovative and talented Dali Quartet has trained with some of the most world-renowned artists and studied and taught at acclaimed institutions around the world. They will be joined on stage with acclaimed Latin percussionist Orlando Cotto and UNCW alumnus and celebrated studio bass musician Doug Irving.
The group will also be conducting educational residency activities and interactive community programs with New Hanover County Schools and DREAMS of Wilmington.
Their performances have been described as "just the right blend of sassiness with sophistication. Both our children's concert audiences and our mainstage audiences loved them…" (Carl Middleman, Music Director, The Philadelphia Classical Symphony).
The Dali Quartet, inspired by the spirit of famed Spanish artist Salvador Dali, will take audiences through an "eclectic journey of rhythm and sound." They will take classical American conservatory traditions and blend them with Venezuela's El Sistema.
Tickets are $22 with discount prices available for seniors, students, youth and UNCW faculty and staff.
For more information about this special event and for tickets, visit www.uncw.edu/presents or call the Kenan Box Office at 910.962.3500.
The performance and residency by Dalí Quartet is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
