9.17.09 Triad Area Alumni Chapter Interest Meeting
Close to 70 UNCW Alumni, family and friends gathered at the Greensboro Country Club to enjoy an elegant evening of great food, great memories and great company! As alumni and friends arrived, they were greeted with a welcome reception and enjoyed complimentary beverages while catching up with past classmates, UNCW staff and administrators. After the reception, guests were invited to enjoy a plated dinner along with dessert and coffee. As the dinner was winding down, Rob McInturf, Director of Alumni Relations introduced Keynote Speaker Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo. While Dr. DePaolo spoke about what was happening on campus you could see the pride in everyone’s face as they learned about what is now happening at their alma mater. When the address was finished the crowd rose in a standing ovation! Rob then announced the Triad Area Alumni Chapter Executive Board – Brian Cruz ‘96, President; Julie Patterson Landen ’02, Vice President; Mary Thomas ’90, Secretary and presented the chapter’s new bylaws. As the event wrapped up and folks were starting to leave, you could hear chatter across the room of alumni reconnecting. It was a special night for the Triad Area Alumni Chapter.
