Letter from Eve Rosson Hall '59

"I want to express my sincere appreciation to all who made the 50th Reunion Luncheon possible. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of the homecoming celebration.

After the luncheon, my husband and I spent the afternoon driving around the college campus. It is a "far cry" from the one building on Market Street in 1959; however, I must confess my affection for that old building and those who worked there. The current college campus is beautiful and impressive.

My year at Wilmington College was a memorable one. Several of my professors were instrumental in helping me become a better student. George Zebrowski, Claude Howell and Catherine Noyes were three of the excellent teachers I had, and I will always remember them with great affection.

Thank you again for making homecoming special for so many of your alumni"

Homecoming TEALgate and Class of '04 Reunion
Triangle MeetingAs the sun started to set on Homecoming Saturday, things were just getting ramped up under the TEALgate tent.  More than 350 Seahawks soared in from all over the nation to reconnect in the TEALgate tent outside of Trask Coliseum.  The first to arrive were the Alumni of the Year and the Young Alumni of the Year arriving in style straight from the Homecoming Parade!  Seahawks enjoyed North Carolina BBQ while catching up with friends, listening to music and playing tailgating games.

TEALgates always honor all UNCW alumni, but this Homecoming TEALgate also honored two very special groups, the Class of 2004’s five year reunion and members of the Dean’s Club.  Dean Roer, Dean of the Graduate School and Research greeted the crowd along with Coach Benny Moss who got everyone pumped up for the upcoming game.  At the end of the evening as TEALgaters trekked into Trask to watch the Seahawks take on the James Madison Dukes, they carried many fun giveaways with them  as a memento of a special UNCW Homecoming evening.

Kim Ratcliff '88 joined the event as the Mistress of Ceremonies and kept the program flowing through the award recipients and concluding with UNCW Chancellor, Dr. DePaolo.
