Sharon Baucom, Facilities Administration
AiM, "intelligence within asset management”, is an Asset Works product used by Facilities to maintain building, property, maintenance and mechanical asset data.
AiM collects purchasing transactions (materials, contracted services, and labor) for work orders and special projects through an interface with uShop (SciQuest).
For campus users the most significant function is customer requests – work that you need done by Physical Plant. By entering your need and departmental information a work order is created and the appropriate shop gets notified. Once the work is complete reference reports are available to departments for informational and reconciliation purposes.
Moving & Recycling requests are initiated in AiM and routed to the appropriate Business Services department.
AiM is also used to track all inventory activity in Facilities Store – a supplies warehouse for Physical Plant. Frequently used parts and supplies are kept on-hand for ease of use by the shops. Other items such as hurricane supplies can be purchased by university departments.
The core system replaced Facility Focus in July 2012. Space Management (campus space – who/where) uses property data maintained by Facilities. Soon implementation will begin for Energy Management software which incorporates high tech metering with university utilities processing.
