Parent Giving

UNCW has a long-standing tradition of parent giving. During the 2011-2012 academic year, 3,868 Seahawk parents raised their hand to be counted as proud UNCW donors. Collectively, they contributed more than $990,000 to the university.

Gifts to the UNCW Parent Opportunity Fund are unrestricted gifts that are used at the discretion of the Chancellor to support experiences designed to create the best possible learning environment for their children including:

• Broadening of cultural opportunities for students
• Encouragement of student involvement in the campus community and beyond
• Enhancement of the campus environment by maintaining a safe, friendly and attractive campus
  

Last year, gifts to the Parent Opportunity Fund went to support UNC Weekends, UNCW Presents, Crossroads, Athletics, Career Services, the SGA scholarship and UNCW Police - just to name a few!

Whether you give to the Parent Opportunity Fund, make a restricted gift to your child's academic program or another area of UNCW - please know that your gift will have a positive impact in the lives of thousands of Seahawk students.
