Class of 2025 Photo & Convocation

Congratulations to the Class of 2025! We are so excited that you have joined the Seahawk family this fall! On this page you'll find exciting Convocation events.

Class of 2025 Class Photo

Each year, new students gather for their official class photo before Convocation. Wear your teal t-shirt and meet the Orientation Leaders and Seahawk Links at the front of your residence hall based on the times below. You'll be escorted to the Intramural Fields and then complete your first 'Trek to Trask' for Convocation.

Convocation

Convocation is an important tradition and signifies the start of your academic journey at UNCW. All first-year students are required to attend Convocation on August 16 at 11:30 a.m. After the class photo, you will be welcomed by the Chancellor, Provost, the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, the Student Government Association President, the Faculty Senate President and Dr. Sabrina Cherry, our faculty keynote speaker. Be sure to bring a mask to wear inside Trask Coliseum.

Academic Expectations

At UNCW, academic integrity is a core value. When students join our community, they pledge to uphold and be subject to the Honor Code. It is designed to help every member of the UNCW community appreciate the high value placed on academic integrity and the means that will be employed to ensure its preservation. In addition, when new students join the academic community at UNCW, they commit to uphold the Honor Pledge. When you visit the Fisher Student Center, find your signature on the Honor Pledge Banner near the stairs. We are glad you are a part of this tradition at UNCW.

UNCW Honor Pledge

"As a student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, I am committed to honesty and truthfulness in academic inquiry and in the pursuit of knowledge. I pledge to uphold and promote the UNCW Student Academic Honor Code."

Each of UNCW's schools and colleges are committed to academic integrity and excellence. Select your school or college below to hear a message from your academic dean regarding academic expectations.
