Take a DSST exam between April 1 and May 31, 2018 with a guaranteed safety net on your investment. Every student who does not pass their first attempt   at a DSST exam* will be eligible for one free exam retake . . . on us.
It’s like having exam insurance. Only better!

DSST's are credit-by-examination tests designed to allow a student to demonstrate proficiency in an area of study normally taught at a college or university. Tests are available in 38 college subject areas. See DSST for more information. These tests are frequently used in conjunction with CLEP tests by students pursuing college degrees in non-traditional formats. Whereas CLEP tests are almost exclusively used for lower level credit at institutions, DSST's may apply for both upper and lower level credit.

Test Time: approximately 2 hours. Picture of Drivers License Also, scratch paper and pencils are provided.

Valid ID Form Required: driver's license, or passport, or military ID must be presented at the time of testing.

How to Register

Note: the $28 payment to UNCW is due when you register for the test. The DSST fee ($85) is due on the day of the test.

Date and Times Offered

DSST Tests are offered Monday through Friday at 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm. Friday afternoon appointments are not available from the first week in May to the first week in August.

Cost, Refunds, and Reschedule Policy

The UNCW fee is $28(online registration adds a $3 convenience fee). The DSST fee is $85 due on the day of the test and requires a credit card payment. No refunds will be given. 

RESCHEDULE. For online registrants: at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, you can reschedule at Candidates can only reschedule once. Click on: My Registrations. Enter your email address. Reschedule your appointment.

Also you can reschedule your appointment by calling University Testing Services at 910-962-7444 at least one business day in advance. Rescheduling is not permitted on the day of the test.
