Coming Soon: New Features for UNCW’s Single Sign-On

As part of ITS’s continuing approach to improve both your user experience and the security of our computing environment, we are implementing a new login page, a self-service password reset (SSPR) portal and seamless sign-on. You will notice these changes when you sign into UNCW’s Office 365 email or other applications that use our single sign-on platform.   

New Login Page

The current clocktower page is being replaced with a new background image of our campus. You will now enter your password on the same screen for better continuity. More UNCW branding with logos and colors will be included within Office 365 email if you choose to use that as your default theme.

Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Portal 

On the date these changes are put into effect, you will be asked for additional information on your first login as part of our new Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) portal. You now have the option to enter your mobile number and an alternative email address. You may also set up security questions to assist you should you need to reset your password. You can set up one, two or all three options.  We recommend that you set up at least two of these options. This new portal adds resiliency so that you can always get into your account, even if you have forgotten your password. For more information on setting up SSPR, please see this knowledge base article

Seamless Sign-On

Seamless Sign-On is another feature being added to reduce the number of times you must enter your credentials into various applications. If you are logged into a UNCW computer, various applications like Office 365 email or Office applications will be able to use your login information to authenticate you.
