Nivine Richie, Ph.D., CFA

Nivine Richie

Nivine Richie is the Associate Dean for Graduate & International Programs and Professor of Finance. She joined the faculty at UNCW in 2007 where she teaches courses in investment analysis, derivatives, fixed income, and research methods. Her research interests include cost of capital, banking, and derivatives. She has published studies in the Journal of Economics and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Review of Futures Markets, and Journal of Trading, among others. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Richie was a mortgage-backed securities trader for a regional dealer bank in South Florida.

Robert Pious

Bob Pious is currently a corporate trainer, as well as an instructor at UNCW’s Cameron School of Business. He helps adult learners and college students improve their contribution to their respective organizations and enhance their own presence in the marketplace. He has been appointed as co-director, Cameron Executive Network at the Cameron School of Business, UNCW; which is a leading business mentoring program. In the Wilmington community, he volunteers at Step-Up Wilmington, helping candidates with their interviewing and employment readiness skills.

His business background is 31 years in Human Resources with IBM, in a variety of management and professional positions. He is a national member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Bob enjoys reading, running, college football and basketball, and keeping up with his family.

Dr. Adam Jones

Dr. Adam Jones

Dr. Jones is the Department Chair of Economics and Finance at the Cameron School of Business. Prior to joining the faculty, Dr. Jones worked with the Newton County Chamber of Commerce in Covington, GA. He has published in the Economic Development Quarterly, the Atlantic Economic Journal, and the Journal of Economics and Finance. His research is on local public finance and regional economics, with a focus on North Carolina issues and tax-base development. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.

Jennifer Schacher

Jennifer Schacher has experience in business management, budgets, instructional technology, online teaching and learning, operations and software system support. She earned her B.S. from the Cameron School of Business at UNCW and completed coursework for a Master’s degree in Accounting. During her 15 years with UNCW, she has served on Staff Senate and has been a 2018 Staff Excellence Nominee. She oversees the budget, logistics & operations, open enrollment and scholarship programs including registration, reporting and system support. Jennifer completed her post-baccalaureate certificate for Online Teaching and Learning from the Watson School of Education here at UNCW in Spring of 2020. Most recently, she completed her Master’s of Science in Instructional Technology in Spring of 2021.

Paula Salinas comes from New York with a strong program administration background primarily in healthcare. Paula has great attention to detail along with superb personal skills. She has an extensive realm of experiences in finance, higher education, marketing, and non-profits. During her free-time, Paula enjoys being one with nature. She researches various bird species, cares for her home and garden, and walks her 3 Australian Shepherds.

Amanda Wilder

Amanda graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2019 from the College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science. With prior experience at the NC Azalea Festival, Amanda has a strong connection to Wilmington and background in client relations, administration, and design. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys hiking, designing graphics, and collaborating with businesses to improve her skills in website development.

Rebekah Irwin

Rebekah is a previous Student Program Assistant for Swain and recent graduate from UNC Wilmington with a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science. She has experience as a Special Needs tutor and worked with UNCW NERDFEST while attending. Along with a vast technical skillset, she brings the center a well-rounded background in event coordinating and promotional design. Rebekah also enjoys technical research as well as animation in digital arts.
