Administrator, Faculty, and/or Staff Awards

The Student Government Association (SGA) would like to invite you to nominate an administrator, faculty, and/or staff member who has demonstrated leadership that goes "above and beyond" in providing excellence in service to students as well as a demonstrated effort to enrich the UNCW community as a whole.

Nominations are due by March 16th by 5 p.m. After nominations close, the nominations will be sent to the Faculty and Staff Senates to submit recommendations for selection.

  • General Criteria to Nominate:
    • Must be an administrator, faculty, or staff member currently employed at UNCW at the time of nomination
    • Must be nominated by a current student, faculty, administrator or staff member at UNCW
    • Demonstrate a commitment to the university's core purpose and values, while positively serving as a role model for the university

  • Criteria for the SGA Award for Outstanding Faculty in Student Engagement:
    Demonstrate a significant impact on the student body through:
    • Outstanding dedication to teaching students
    • Developing mentor-student relationships
    • Engaging students with collaboration and applied learning experiences
    • Involve students in engagement, scholarly or otherwise, in the campus and Wilmington community
  • Criteria for the SGA Award for Outstanding Staff in Student Impact:
    Demonstrate a significant impact on the student body and university through:
    • Outstanding dedication to serving the university
    • Exemplary leadership known amongst fellow colleagues
    • Genuine evidence of serving "above and beyond" their job description
  • Criteria for the SGA Award for Outstanding Administrator in University Leadership:
    Demonstrate a significant impact on students, faculty, and staff through:
    • Proven leadership in encouraging professional development and addressing faculty, staff, and student needs
    • Demonstrated connection and visibility to the campus
    • Serve as a liaison between faculty, staff, students, administration, and the community
    • Uphold and promote fairness and equity in resolving issues and open to feedback from all stakeholders
    • Genuine evidence of going "above and beyond" their job description
