Applied Gerontology M.S.

The Master of Science in Applied Gerontology prepares professionals to improve the well-being of older adults, as advocates, direct service providers, educators/trainers, administrators, marketers and product developers, program planners, evaluators, researchers, and more. Gerontologists may work with a variety of public and private organizations that provide services and goods needed by an aging population, or they may create their own new job opportunities in this fast growing field.

Athletic Training M.S.

The Athletic Training curriculum will prepare you for personal and professional success, while establishing the standard for excellence in Athletic Training education on a national level. The College of Health and Human Services especially excited about our program’s transition to the Master’s degree beginning in summer 2020. This will further position our graduates to become an integral member of the healthcare team.

Physical Education and Health Specialization M.A.T

The Masters of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) with a specialization in Physical Education and Health (PEH) is a 33-hour program for students who are seeking initial teaching certification in Physical Education and Health. Successful completion of the program and licensure requirements will lead to a Master’s Degree and North Carolina Physical Education and Health teacher certification. The target audiences for this degree include those who wish to teach Physical Education and Health to children in K-12 schools or adults in higher education settings.

Physical Education and Health Specialization M.Ed.

The Master of Education with specialization in Physical Education and Health (PEH) is designed for candidates who are teaching Physical Education and Health at the public school levels pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. Graduates of the program will possess the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue advanced education in teacher education programs within the discipline, as well as to work in professional and leadership positions within public and private school settings.
