Cross-Listing Courses

Please contact the Office of the Registrar if you have courses that need to be crosslisted.

A cross-listed course is a course that is offered under more than one departmental heading.  Cross-listed courses (ie., courses offered by more than one department) will be assigned the same number in each department, in which it is offered.  The courses carry the same attributes (breadth & level), have the same catalog descriptions in each listing, and have identical course prerequisites.  All students who enroll in cross-listed courses, regardless of the subject list through which he/she may have enrolled, will have the same course experience.

  • Because of the way we handle room scheduling, any two or more courses that are taught in the same room at the same time and have identical meeting patterns should be cross-listed in Banner.
  • Contact the Office of the Registrar about any courses that do not fit this criterion, that need to be cross-listed.
  • This will also include all courses listed at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
  • Courses are first built on SSASECT as they normally would be.  Then, the courses are tied together, or cross-listed.
