Yu Wang

Assistant Professor

Dr. Yu Wang holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management and Decision Sciences from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Bloomington and a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Brandeis University. Yu has taught classes covering various topics in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, and Operations Management at both graduate and undergraduate levels, such as Principles of Operations Management, Service Operations Management, Healthcare Analytics, and Logistics and Distribution Management.

Yu’s research primarily focuses on the healthcare industry. More specifically, he studies how the healthcare system responds to disruptions, encompassing short-term challenges like Mass-Casualty Incidents and long-term crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Yu applies methodologies including stochastic modeling, optimization, and econometric analysis in both research and consulting. His work has appeared in health policy and public health journals such as JAMA Health Forum and Health Research Policy and Systems, and business operations management journals such as Manufacturing and Service Operations Management and Labor History. He has also led consulting projects for several tertiary hospitals.

Yu spent his teenage years in San Antonio, TX, and is a proud Spurs fan. He also represented Brandeis University as a member of its Men's Ultimate Frisbee team, which gifted him with beautiful memories and bad ankles and knees.
