Dr. Andrew Tupper is a Research Computing and Data Professional at the Center for Marine Science, University of North Carolina Wilmington. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from McMaster University, where his dissertation explored the computational modeling of RNA replication and its implications for the origin of life on Earth.

Dr. Tupper's diverse career includes serving as a Research Associate with the USDA, where he developed bioinformatics tools for CRISPR-based diagnostic systems, and as a Bioinformatics Software Engineer at BenchSci, a company renowned for its AI-driven solutions that enhance preclinical research and drug design.

In his current role, Dr. Tupper manages the "Cuttlefish" High Performance Computer at the Center for Marine Science. He is dedicated to providing educational resources and consultation to empower researchers with the tools they need to succeed. His research interests encompass scientific software development, workflow automation, and computational modeling.
