Stacey R. Kolomer
Director
Stacey Kolomer joined UNCW School of Social Work as MSW coordinator and full professor in the fall of 2012. Since 2015, Dr. Kolomer has served in the role of the director of the School of Social Work. In 2007 she received the Marietta Suhart Award from the Georgia Gerontology Society and in 2008 the Mit Joyner Gerontology Leadership Award from the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors and Association for Gerontology Education in Social Work. She was a John A. Hartford Geriatric Scholar and a University of Georgia Service-Learning Fellow. In 2012, she was awarded the UGA Service-Learning Excellence in Teaching Award.
She has over 30 published journal articles and book chapters and has presented at several national and international professional conferences. She has served on the Board of Directors for Columbia University School of Social Work Alumni Association, The North Carolina MFT Licensing Board, Elderhaus BoD, CSWE’s Council on Leadership Development, NADD executive board, The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation, Athens Community Council on Aging, Georgia Gerontology Society and the Northeast Georgia CARE-NET.

Research Interests
Dr. Kolomer's research interests have included grandparent caregiving families, burn survivorship, destigmatizing mental health disorders, and interprofessional education.
