Research Interests
My research group uses mass spectrometry to identify and quantify small organic molecules in marine and coastal environments. We particularly focus on a group of abundant metabolites called osmolytes and their role in microbial food webs and geochemical cycles. We also use non-target high-resolution mass spectrometry to identify contaminants of potential emerging concern. For more information: https://www.johnsonbiogeochem.com/
