Jeeyae Choi

Professor

After earning dual undergraduate degrees in nursing and electrical engineering and an MS in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University, Dr. Jeeyae Choi began her academic career as a research assistant at the Decision Systems Group at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She earned her PhD in Nursing Informatics from Columbia University in 2006.
Dr. Choi is an expert in nursing informatics (NI), teaching foundational NI courses to undergraduate students and advanced courses for MS and DNP candidates. She has also taught data science, genetics, and genomics in healthcare to undergraduate students.
Dr. Choi’s research focuses on developing innovative AI-assisted health information systems and mobile applications, including AI-powered telehealth solutions. By leveraging machine learning, she constructs predictive models to address critical healthcare challenges, with the goal of improving patient outcomes through personalized, timely insights and enhancing remote care delivery.
Through her teaching and research, Dr. Choi is advancing healthcare technology and contributing to improving the overall quality of care.
