Daisyane C. Barreto
Associate Professor
Associate Professor at University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). She earned her Ph.D. in Learning, Design, and Technology from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining UNCW, she worked as a multimedia developer for non-profit and higher education institutions. She was also a research assistant with Disney Connected Learning in the design of learning games. Her primary research interest is in the field of game-based learning. She is also interested in technology integration, emerging technologies, including AI, and online education.

Research Interests
Her research centers on learners’ design and engagement with emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and game-based learning, in educational contexts and online education. She has also worked in global projects to train teachers using online learning strategies to have a social impact in their communities.
