Hannah Michelle Altergott
Clinical Assistant Professor, Prelicensure and ABSN Program Coordinator
Dr. Hannah Altergott is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Prelicensure/ABSN Program Coordinator in the School of Nursing. In this leadership role, she oversees key aspects of the program, including curriculum implementation, student orientation and progression, faculty onboarding and support, and daily program operations. Dr. Altergott teaches across multiple nursing programs, including the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)/ABSN, RN-to-BSN, and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs. Prior to joining the UNCW School of Nursing faculty in 2023, Dr. Altergott served as Nursing Department Chair at Sandhills Community College for two years, leading multiple programs and over 30 faculty. A registered nurse since 2012, her diverse clinical experience includes inpatient adult and pediatric psychiatric care, adult medical-surgical nursing, outpatient care, school health, and clinical education. Dr. Altergott continues to engage in community health initiatives and national and regional professional service. She is dedicated to advancing the well-being of nurses and nursing students, actively engaging in scholarship focused on nursing education, professional wellness, and school health.
