Safety Resources

Living off campus provides students many important skills that may help them later in life. Living independent of formalized supervision, learning how to read and interpret a lease/contract, and experiencing the greater Wilmington community are all advantages to off campus living. But such as the case with anything that has advantages, there are also things about living off campus that students must be aware of, such as personal safety.

While most neighborhoods near campus are generally considered safe, there are no off campus Resident Assistants and UNCW police do not patrol off campus.  Students who elect to live off campus should make such a choice in an informed manner, be aware of their surroundings and how to be vigilant when it comes to protecting themselves and their property.

The resources below are available to you should you be impacted by a crime off-campus.
