Program: 27 months (115 credit hours), admits 40 students to the Wingate campus and 10 students to the Hendersonville campus, and starts in the Fall. 96% PANCE Five Year First Time Taker Average Pass Rate

Each applicant must complete 9 prerequisite courses. Online courses and virtual labs are acceptable. Courses must be completed in 2013 or later at a regionally accredited institution. 

  • Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II with Lab (8 credit hours) (UNCW: BIO/L 240 and BIO/L 241)
  • Genetics (3 credit hours; lecture only) (UNCW: BIO/L 335)
  • Microbiology with Lab (4 credit hours) (UNCW: BIO/L 246 or BIO/L 425)
  • Organic Chemistry with Lab (4 credit hours; no time limit) (UNCW: CHM/L 211)
  • Biochemistry (3 credit hours, lecture only; combination courses of organic/biochemistry or similar will not fulfill this prerequisite) (UNCW: BIO/L 465)

Each applicant must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher on the six courses listed above to be eligible for admission consideration; no grade below C will be accepted regardless of the calculated GPA.

  • General Psychology (3 credit hours; AP credit accepted; no time limit) (UNCW: PSY 105)
  • Statistics (3 credit hours) (UNCW: STT 210 or STT 215)
  • Medical Terminology (No minimum credit hours; can be credit hour course completed at a regionally accredited institution or continuing education course; documentation of successful completion, if not reflected on college or university transcript, must be submitted directly to the PA program) (UNCW: ATR 470)
