New Video Shows Future Seahawks “The Watson Experience”

Tuesday, November 12, 2019

The Watson College is pleased to share a new video of “The Watson College experience!” UNCW’s media production team created the video. It was first shown at Watson Preview Day on November 8.

Watson Preview Days are held each semester give high school students, prospective transfers and their families an opportunity to learn about programs offered by UNCW’s Watson College of Education.

At the Preview Day event on November 8, Watson College Dean Van Dempsey joined WCE recruiter Dean Heath in welcoming aspiring future Seahawks to campus. Professor Robert Smith shared information about WCE undergraduate teacher education programs, Ed Lab Director Brian Brinkley gave a tour of the Ed Lab tutoring facility and CMC Makerspace located in the Education Building, and eight Watson Student Leaders served on a panel answering questions from prospective students and families.

Feedback from participants was very positive.

“I really enjoyed Watson Preview Day. Students and faculty were very open and willing to answer any questions we had. They actually answered questions I didn’t even know I had!” one prospective student said. “It was a very helpful event that made me even more excited about UNCW and this program.”

The Watson College will host two preview events in spring 2020:

  • Saturday, January 25, 10 a.m. -noon
  • Saturday, February 29, 10 a.m.–noon
