WCE’s MIT and Online Elementary Education Programs Ranked in Nation’s Top Ten

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

WCE’s Master of Science in Instructional Technology has been ranked 10th in the nation by the website AffordableColleges.com. The ranking for best online educational technology masters degrees is based on both cost and student success rates.

“The MIT program connects creative and experienced faculty with strong, talented students,” said Van Dempsey, dean of the Watson College. “Link that with learning contexts that cross education, business and corporate worlds and you get a successful program for faculty, students and the places that hire our graduates. The MIT is a model for how to do that,” he said.

The MIT ranking was announced in a UNCW homepage story on Sept. 25.

UNCW ranks 9th nationally on a list of Best Online Education Degrees for 2017 compiled by the higher education website College Choice. College Choice highlighted features that “differentiate” WCE’s Elementary Education distance learning program, including several areas of specialization, field experiences and opportunities for international study experience.

“UNCW designs its online programs to give students access to high-quality courses of study that meet their individual needs and help them achieve their aspirations to become educators. The online Bachelor of Education is a great example of that work,” Dempsey said. “It is gratifying that College Choice recognizes the strength of our program.”

The online education degree ranking was announced in a UNCW homepage story on August 25.
