PDS Hosts Fall Job Fair

Tuesday, January 03, 2017

On Dec. 2, WCE’s Professional Development System office hosted the third annual PDS Fall Intern Job Fair. The event gave WCE seniors the opportunity to meet with principals, human resource directors and other representatives to discuss potential job opportunities in area schools.

Nine district and school partners participated in the event. Participating school districts were Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, Jones, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender and Sampson county schools. Representatives from Cape Fear Center for Inquiry also participated in the event.

Immediately following the job fair, district representatives joined Watson faculty in a PDS Partner Luncheon to discuss factors currently affecting our PDS School-University Partnership. Discussion topics included an examination of current PDS goals and practices, transactional and transformational components of our partnership, and the role our Professional Development System can play in teaching and learning across southeastern North Carolina in the coming years.

The luncheon conversation is the first in a series of PDS open forums that will take place in the spring. PDS teachers, administrators, faculty, and students will be invited to participate.
