WCE Faculty and Staff Celebrate Candace Blanke’s Award and Recognition

Saturday, September 03, 2016

Congratulations to Candace Blanke! She was one of 14 staff members recognized by Chancellor Jose V. Sartarelli and Provost Marilyn Sheerer for exemplary service at the university’s Staff Awards celebration in September.

PDS director Somer Lewis nominated Candace Blanke for UNCW’s 2016 Staff Award for Excellence. Lewis cited Blanke’s devotion to the advancement of WCE’s school-university partnership and selfless commitment to collaboration within Watson, across campus and among partnership stakeholders in her letter of nomination. “I am humbled and in awe of Candace’s dedication,” she wrote.

Since 2010, Blanke has served as the administrative associate and University program associate for the Professional Development System (PDS) school-university partnership in WCE’s Office of Teacher Education and Outreach.

Watson College dean Van Dempsey, associate dean Ann Potts, ITFSE department chair Donyell Roseboro and several WCE faculty and staff members joined Blanke and Lewis at the awards event, held at the Burney Center on September 14.
