PDS Hosts Professional Learning Days for Partnership Teachers

Saturday, April 02, 2016

Sixty middle grades and secondary partnership teachers joined university supervisors for a professional learning day at the Watson College on March 14. Principal supervisors and interns enrolled in WCE's Master of School Administration (MSA) program also attended. The event was the second in a series titled, “iTEACH: Transform, Engage, Advocate, Challenge, Hope.”

An “iTEACH” professional learning day for early childhood and elementary school teachers and university supervisors was held at the college on March 17. One hundred partnership teachers attended the event.

Both events featured presentations by WCE faculty and guest speakers, and faculty-led roundtable sessions that allowed teachers the opportunity to discuss ways that they transform, engage, advocate, challenge and inspire hope in their classrooms when working with students and UNCW pre-service teachers.

The professional learning days are offered each semester to PDS partnership teachers hosting interns from the Watson College.
