Tuesday, April 05, 2016

UNCW's Center for Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CESTEM) and the Watson College of Education sponsored the 2016 Southeast Regional Science and Engineering Fair held in the Education Building on campus Feb. 13.

Nearly 200 students from Brunswick, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Sampson and Wayne counties exhibited projects at the event.

UNCW Provost Marilyn Sheerer participated in an awards ceremony to celebrate the students’ achievements.

CESTEM assistant director Christopher Gordon coordinated the fair and more than 50 UNCW faculty and staff members, as well as many community volunteers, served as judges.

Winners went on to compete at the North Carolina State Science and Engineering Fair held April 1-2 at Meredith College in Raleigh.
