Buchanan, Fox Host Monthly Research Collaborations

Monday, May 04, 2015

Over the course of the 2014-15 academic year, faculty gathered monthly for informal collaboration on research.

The meetings provided an opportunity to share work, brainstorm ideas and lend support to colleagues as faculty members worked to conduct research, prepare for presentations and author articles for publication. Participants supported each other as reviewers and shared conference dates and calls for manuscripts.

The research group started in spring 2013 and has grown in size and momentum. Last fall, several participants collaborated on a symposium panel at the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) conference in Tucson, AZ. “The research group is an excellent way to network with colleagues in other departments and make connections across projects,” Lisa Buchanan said.

In addition to Buchanan, participants included: Jale Aldemir, Alicia Brophy, Amy Garrett Dikkers, Kathy Fox, Chuck Jurich, Christine Liao, Kevin McClure, Mahnaz Moallem, Ann Potts, Angie Reid-Griffin, Amy Rottmann, Marta Sanchez, Robert Smith and Candace Thompson.

Buchanan and Fox coordinated the research collaborations.
