2nd Annual ELMS Workshop

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

On June 12th the ELMS (Educating Language Minority Students) Project hosted Drs. Andrea Honigsfeld and Maria Dove for its 2nd annual Teacher Workshop. This summer’s workshop focused on co-teaching and how it is most effectively implemented with English language learners in the mainstream classroom. Our presenters, who are on the faculty at Molloy College (Long Island, NY), led 35 participating teachers from 9 North Carolina school districts through a comprehensive discussion about the history and effectiveness of collaboration in educational settings. Additionally, using many interactive activities, our participants learned about the most efficient ways to design and implement a co-teaching model in a variety of classrooms.
