UNCW is set to co-host an all-day jamboree to honor veterans in southeastern North Carolina on Saturday, April 25. The event will take place at the Veterans Hall Quad from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Office of Military Affairs is co-hosting the event in partnership with the World War II Wilmington Home Front Heritage Coalition to celebrate America250, a nationwide commemoration of the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“UNC Wilmington is honored to co-host the America 250 Veterans Jamboree, a signature moment in our nation’s commemoration of 250 years of service and sacrifice. Founded in 1947 as a GI Bill school, UNCW’s commitment to military‑affiliated students is not a recent initiative; it is part of who we are. Supporting those who have served is in our DNA,” said Bill Kawczynski, director of Military Affairs. “Veterans Hall stands as a testament to that legacy, and this event reflects the university’s enduring dedication to veterans, service members and their families. As we welcome the community to campus, we are proud to honor all who have worn our nation’s uniform and to express our deep gratitude for their contributions to our freedom.”

More than two dozen veteran service organizations and military units will be tabling at the event. The schedule includes live music by the Schoolboys Band, VIP guests, entertainment and food trucks.
