UNCW Holds Rank Among Best Online Programs

The University of North Carolina Wilmington is again noted in the top 20 best online bachelor’s degree programs by U.S. News and World Report. It climbs two spots to 16th nationally on the popular annual list. Several of its online graduate programs are also recognized.   

Best Online Bachelor's Programs: 
UNCW ranks 16th overall, tied with Colorado State University Global, University of Kentucky and Washington State University (UNCW ranked 18th last year). 
UNCW maintains its 29th ranking for Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans.  

Best Online Graduate Business Programs: 
UNCW ranks 120th overall, tied with Rider University.  

Best Online MBA Programs: 
UNCW ranks 129th overall, tied with Troy University and University of Michigan-Dearborn and 94th for Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans (a new ranking for UNCW).

Best Online Graduate Education Programs: 
UNCW ranks 159th overall, tied with six other institutions (up from 204th last year). 

“I am pleased that these rankings recognize the quality of UNCW’s online programs,” said Chancellor Aswani K. Volety. “The university has invested in making a wide range of strong academic programs available online, increasing access and affordability for many students. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to offering meaningful experiences that integrate teaching and mentoring with research and service in every learning platform.”      

Last year, UNCW launched “Soar Higher,” a 10-year strategic plan emphasizing unparalleled opportunities, nationally prominent programs, community commitment and world-class operations and infrastructure as its guiding principles.  

In September, UNCW was number 109 on the best public national universities in the state and nation, on the “2023-24 Best Colleges” list from U.S. News & World Report and came in 19th on Military Times’ “Best for Vets 2023 Colleges” list of 325 private and public institutions, making it the top-ranked North Carolina school. UNCW has made the best-selling Fiske Guide to Colleges since 2017.
