Coastal Entrepreneur Awards Celebrates 15th Anniversary

Awards Breakfast Celebrates 11 Standout Companies

Paul Baron, founder of The Wall Printer, a global company specializing in vertical wall printing, was selected as Entrepreneur of the Year at the annual Coastal Entrepreneur Awards breakfast on May 31 held at UNCW’s Burney Center. A Wilmington-area businessman, Baron is also a UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship mentor, guest lecturer and Small Business Technology Development Center supporter.

The Coastal Entrepreneur Awards, a joint effort of UNCW’s CIE and the Greater Wilmington Business Journal, honored 11 standout startup companies and nonprofits in the Cape Fear region, including Baron’s company.

"UNCW and CIE celebrate the success of each of today’s 11 entrepreneurs. The road to get here is long, and we are so glad that the community came together to highlight each of these entrepreneurs," said Heather McWhorter, CIE director.

Award recipients were selected in nine categories, including film, manufacturing and distribution, minority-owned, nonprofit, professional services, real estate, hospitality, services, and technology. Companies and nonprofits in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties were eligible for consideration by a panel of judges.
