The UNCW Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is offering assistance to students, families and those in the greater Wilmington community with the preparation of their Free Application for Financial Student Aid for the 2022-23 filing season, which opens on Oct. 1, 2021.

The office will be open virtually Oct. 4-7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and in person until 5 p.m. for FAFSA assistance. On Friday, Oct. 8, virtual hours conclude at 4 p.m. This assistance is available to all students, even if they plan to attend a different university. Those interested can join via Zoom office hours or email a financial aid counselor to schedule a time that works for them.

New applicants who plan to submit the FAFSA online must at first create a Federal Student Aid ID at StudentAid.gov. Each school has its own deadlines and schedule for awarding financial aid. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as early as possible while aid is available.
