Cameron School of Business Marketing Advisory Board to Host Kick-off Meeting
Wednesday, September 22, 2021
UNCW’s Cameron School of Business Marketing Advisory Board will convene for its first meeting of the 2021-22 school year on Thursday, Sept. 23. Comprised of 20 local business leaders from a wide array of professional backgrounds, the board will support students and faculty within the marketing department and the Center for Sales Excellence & Customer Delight.
“By interacting with students and faculty, this professional advisory board will work to improve the quality of our undergraduate programs in professional sales and marketing strategy,” said John Reed, the center’s director. “We are especially grateful to this outstanding group of industry professionals who are willing to volunteer their time and expertise to mentor UNCW students.”
Board members and their respective firms will provide a variety of support including partnering with faculty on research and class projects and offering internships and professional guidance to students. In addition, the board can facilitate discussions and give valuable perspective on emerging issues of concern to marketing professionals.
The board meeting agenda includes a networking opportunity, followed by UNCW student presentations on recent internships, classes and preparation for graduation. The board will also hear updates on current priorities within the marketing department and will have an opportunity to provide input on effective ways the department and its students can best utilize the expertise of the board members.
Members of the business community interested in more information about the board can contact John Reed at reedj@uncw.edu.
