A Celebration Like No Other: UNCW’s 100th Commencement Exercises May 7-8
Monday, April 26, 2021
UNCW’s one-hundredth commencement exercises will take place both virtually and in-person during multiple ceremonies scheduled May 7 and 8. All members of the Class of 2021 (nearly 2,183 undergraduates, 593 master’s and 31 doctoral students) will be individually recognized, regardless of whether they choose virtual or in-person attendance.
Virtual Ceremony Information:
The virtual ceremony will be available for viewing beginning at 1 p.m. on May 7 and accessible for later viewing for one year. Graduates participating virtually will hear remarks from the chancellor, provost and senior class president.
In-Person Ceremonies in Trask Coliseum:
Friday, May 7 at 1 p.m.
Friday, May 7 at 5 p.m.
Saturday, May 8 at 9 a.m.
Saturday, May 8 at 1 p.m.
UNCW’s in-person ceremonies will not be separated by school or college. Graduates were provided one guest ticket for their in-person ceremony and COVID-19 protocols will be strictly followed. COVID-19 precautions preclude graduates from walking into the coliseum together. Graduates will be individually recognized from their seats during their in-person ceremony.
COVID-19 social distancing precautions preclude faculty attendance at this year’s in-person ceremonies. Faculty Senate President Nathan Grove will represent the faculty.
All in-person ceremonies will be livestreamed and close-captioned for remote viewing. All departmental celebrations will be virtual.
Please visit the commencement site for additional details and updates.
