SHAHS Healthful Living and Fitness Education faculty Dr. Jordan Weber and Dr. Amelia (Kit) Huelskamp have been named educators of the year by the N.C. Society for Health and Physical Educators (NC SHAPE).

Weber was named Adapted Physical Educator of the Year and Huelskamp was named Health Educator of the Year.

Candidates for both awards are nominated by a student or colleague. Nominees are then reviewed by a committee of health and physical education (PE) professionals (K-12 teachers, adapted physical educators, university professors, etc.) and one nominee is selected and named teacher of the year in the categories of PE, health and adapted PE.
