UNCW’s 315 student-athletes closed out the recent 2018-19 school year in the classroom in exemplary fashion, compiling a 3.347 grade point average with 15 teams reaching the 3.00 plateau during the spring 2019 semester.
 
Overall, Seahawk student-athletes finished the year with an outstanding cumulative GPA of 3.35.
 
“We’re very proud of the continued academic prowess of our student-athletes,” said Jimmy Bass, UNCW's athletic director. "It's a tribute to their dedication in the classroom, the efforts of our Student-Athlete Support Services staff and the contributions of many others.”
